DON'T change money in a hotel, the rate is FAR worse than even the worst money changer.

Tourists need to check the rate daily and change money when their currency is on the upswing.

Banks and currency exchanges can be found in all major tourist areas. Keep receipts of all exchanges.
All mayor currencies as well as Credit Cards are accepted, but you need to take your passport with you.

Most ATMs accept such international connecting systems as Cirrus, Plus, NYCE, Visa and MasterCards.

Rather than carry large amounts of cash or traveler's checks, you may withdraw between 10,000 baht and 20,000 baht per day using these cards.

ATMs used to close at about 22.00, but now they are all being replaced with new machines clearly marked 24 Hour ATM.

Most Hotels, Restaurants and Shops accept Visa and MasterCards, but you need to take your passport with you. AmericanExpress cards are not very popular in Thailand.
