Pattaya Copycat: Diesel Time
Copycats of Diesel Time (as well as other brand name) watches are on sale at markets in Pattaya for about 100 Baht only.
At Royal Garden Plaza, Mike Shopping Mall or BigC's Central Center you have to pay about 200 Baht (or more) for the same shit.
If you are a lucky buyer, the watch will run a few hours or even a few days, otherwise it runs at the seller's booth only...

Pattaya Police
Buffoons
During January 2009 police officers from Chonburi inspected a flea market in South Pattaya and detained 2 stall owners.
One was selling 25 fake Levis and Wranglers Jeans, the other one 68 fake shirts of brand names like Billabong, D & G, Diesel, Lacoste, Polo, Puma and Versace.
Buffoons, at shopping malls in Central Pattaya the officers could seize hundreds - if not thousands - of clothes with fakes brand names.

Police and Copycat
Usually Police turns a blind eye on Copycat products.
If Police starts a 'crackdown' on Copycat products, its targets is the small street vendor, usually not the manufacturer or the importer of the goods.
Big fishes have the right connection to avoid crackdowns interrupting their businesses.
A Police crackdown on pirated goods in Thailand has an alibi function only.
Copycat Products are on sale everywhere in Pattaya, not only at street vendors or at markets. You can get them at virtually all Shopping Centers and Shopping Malls in the city.
